LaShawn Ford 

Illinois State Representative and Prostate Cancer Survivor

LaShawn Ford is a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 8th District since 2007. He holds a B.S. in Education from Loyola University in Chicago. Representative Ford has an esteemed record in politics, including as a candidate for Chicago mayor in the 2019 election. Also, he is a real estate entrepreneur and founder of Ford Desired Realty Inc. He is a former history teacher and basketball coach for Chicago public schools and a licensed real estate broker. He is also a member of the Chicago National Association of REALTORS and is a board member of several community organization boards within and outside of his political district.
